Founder and president of Codilis & Associates, Ernest Codilis, received the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award in May from his alma mater, Western Illinois University. According to the University, the award recognizes alumni with exceptional professional accomplishments and service to the community. Ernest Codilis graduated from Western Illinois University in 1973 and founded Codilis & Associates in 1977. Now leads a team of more than 60 attorneys dedicated to providing foreclosure, bankruptcy, and REO Title and Closing services in the state of Illinois. He also supports numerous local and international charities.
Western Illinois University also honored Lt. Gen. Vincent R. Stewart with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Stewart graduated in 1981, and went on to become the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Stewart advises both the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on military intelligence.
Both honorees have remained actively involved with the University. Ernest Codilis recently set up a scholarship for pre-law students. Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart has been working to increase connections between the University’s football team and the United States Marine Corps.
